He is the co-author of many programming language textbooks. And Aho is renowned of his AWK Programming Language. Currently, he is conducting his research on quantum computing, compilers and algorithms.

Alfred Aho also received one of the most prestegious IT awards- IEEE John von Neumann Medal.
