In discussing the prejudices of people and their lack of understanding against each other, we decided to put the emphasis on the possibility of turning this case into an enjoyable advantage. (2003) (aft, mot)
It is Eyje that provides authors with different point of views across the planet in an up-to-date and categorized manner. We call this "The Social Comment Search Engine".
Besides, the Eyje authors are also free to communicate their feelings with each other on this Social Network.
Aft has builded up many designs to develop its comment search engine idea. The Category Bar displaying the comments regarding countries, age, occupation and gender of the comment owners, and the Eyjemeter showing the overall statistics on that particular topics, are the features developed during this phase.
Later on, eyje.com domain was registered for this project in December, 2006. arpeggio has coded the project during this while. Finally, eyje.com relaunhed with its new interface, elevated the features and enhanced its functionality in October 1, 2007. And at 5 April 2008, eyje re-launched with new features and a new interface.
What is eyje?
Eyje.com is basically a social comment search engine. Think of an instrument that easily brings up a worldwide list of opinions on different criteria. Say;Nicolas Sarkozy, Brad Pitt, Atheism or something else, and get the categorized comments about it. Or, you can select a choice in the categorization tab, that only dispays homogenious results at a time, like comments by country, age, gender, and etc. Similarly, you can also see only the direction of the comments as positive, negative or the balanced comments about a topic.
Briefly, you can analyse the mainstream of the tendencies of comments on a country base and easily examine the international mindset of people. For example, a German, before visiting Moscow, can browse the comments of other Germans; before booking their flights. Or a band can catch on the reflections of its new launched album on eyje.com by categorizing the comments by countries. Similarly, one can observe the attitude of the Middle Eastern citizens approach towards Europe, just like the Far Easterns on America.
Meanwhile, it is also a social network where the authors can connect with each other about the topics and their comments. The authors can personalize their profiles, add thir own avatars, create their friend lists and send messages to other authors. The igniting factor that fosters the communication between the authors is the diversity of eyje.com.
